Entering a Season of Change and Growth

With the 2023-year ending, I am coming to realize that if I want to keep growing, Ashley Klaasen Photography must make some big changes!

I am so excited to share that I am in the process of looking for studio space. I know I’ve said this over the past couple years but this time it’s for real!!! I began looking for just a space to help store my props and do photo shoots but after visiting some lovely but not ideal spaces, I have come to realize that I want to give all of you an experience not just a location. I imagine many thoughts running through your head are "FINALLY!" "Where?" "How will this change things" or "Will this increase your pricing?" I will remain at the current session pricing along with the product investment but hope to improve sessions and provide more session options. What I'm hoping to do with a new studio space is to display the product I love and to show you the quality and beauty of the canvas prints, standouts, acrylic blocks and so much more! Along with being able to show the products I hope for you to invest in, I want to expand my creativity. Working out of my home for the last 4 years has been a blessing but has also had its limitations. I want to bring in more newborn props, expand and provide studio maternity sessions, explore more creative and detailed cake smash beyond balloons, and give a space for me to grow as a business but also in relationships with all of you!

Finally, I want a space that I can provide to other photographers to rent when I’m not utilizing it! This will allow me to grow and meet others in our industry, as well as learn from them and teach them! We can’t all know everything but together we know some things! More details will follow once I have a space!

Not only will I be physically growing but I am investing in my education as well! In July, I’m extremely excited to be joining other photographers in the area with world renowned photographers, Erin and Anja, best known for their internationally acclaimed maternity and newborn masterclasses! This is a one-of-a-kind experience and I feel so blessed to be joining other newborn photographers from the area to learn lighting, posing, editing, and so much more!

Some of you may also know a year ago, I connected with the wonderful Melissa Gregerson of Gregerson Photography (https://www.gregersenphotography.com/) and learnt a great deal from her! I feel so blessed to have formed a wonderful relationship with her and she has guided me in many ways throughout the year! I am not afraid to admit my struggles as I’m not a perfect photographer. I have been challenged by studio lighting and she has graciously offered to mentor me in this area! I hope to take this opportunity after the new year!

Finally, as far as Ashley Klaasen Photography, I am in the process of rebranding! I have hired a talented team to help me create a logo that truly encompasses what I want to say about Ashley Klaasen Photography. I cannot wait to see what they come up with and am excited to show all of you the results!

Completing Ashley Klaasen Photography, I would love to introduce its sibling Bookworm Portraits! Over the last few years, I have been photographing preschools in the area. I want to expand this and provide another option to daycares and preschools in the area. I am finalizing Bookworm Portraits website, contract details, packages, and more! If you have a child in daycare and would like to see more personable school photos, tell your provider to give Bookworm Portraits a try during the 2024 school year. You may also shoot me a message to include your school in my mail outs!!!

For now, that is the end of 2023! Thank you everyone for your continued support and love for me! I cannot tell you how much my family and I appreciate your support in our small business! Until 2024, have a wonderful Holiday Season!!!
